Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator in a physician practice where you will greet and register patients, answer calls, and help schedule appointments. You will also maintain the provider's schedule and assist with coordinating care.

You will support the clinical team with outpatient communication and outreach, contributing to a smooth patient experience and efficient practice operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year experience in a customer service or clerical setting.
• Associates degree preferred; working knowledge of medical terminology, third party billing and referral procedures.
• Experience with EPIC EMS and clerical/office environment preferred; 1 year in medical office setting.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

As the first team member a patient interacts with at a physician practice, the Patient Service Coordinator creates a positive, inviting tone. In this role, you greet and register patients, answer phone calls, take messages and schedule and reschedule patient appointments. You will also maintain the provider's schedule. You will assist the clinical staff with outgoing calls to patients, pharmacies or other providers as needed. The above summary of accountabilities is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed in this role. It should not be considered exhaustive.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent 1 year experience in a customer service or clerical setting

Preferred Requirements

• Associates degree Working knowledge of medical terminology, third party billing and referral procedures Experience with EPIC EMS 3 years' experience in a clerical or office function 1 year experience in a medical office setting
