Job summary

Baptist Health Care seeks a Safety Companion to provide sitter services and assist nursing staff in patient care activities at our Pensacola facilities. You will monitor patients, maintain a safe environment, and support daily living activities under nurse direction.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification within 90 days, with strong communication and documentation skills, and willingness to float across system departments as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association within 90 Days Required.
Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.

The Safety Companion carries out routine and assigned non-nursing tasks and assists the nurse in carrying out patient care activities within the scope of training and experience. this position monitors the patient's verbalizations and reports all actions to the nurse. To provide the services of a sitter for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation in order to maximize his or her safety.
