The Patient Safety Officer for the Patient Safety Organization serves in a role that models and promotes a culture of psychological safety where learning from errors and fair accountability are considered norms. The role leads and directs a model which supports reductions of harms readmissions as well as promoting the National Quality Program (NQP) initiatives

Bachelor’s Degree required – BSN preferred
Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years RN experience
Minimum 2 years management experience preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license).
Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification.
Professional Patient Safety (CPPS) or completion within two (2) years of hire. This certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma preferred.
