GMH Grant Memorial Hospital is seeking a patient sitter to support the patient care team and address specific patient needs. The role emphasizes constant observation, safety, and coordination with nurses to maintain a secure environment.

The position requires a high school diploma, BLS within 30 days, and completion of a hospital patient care sitter course prior to starting. This is a non-exempt, on-site role based in Petersburg, WV with a 4-hour weekly schedule.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification within 30 days or hire.
• Successful completion of Hospital Patient Care Sitter course prior to working a shift.

Mansioni

• Provides constant observation and monitoring of assigned patients to ensure safety.
• Receives report from the RN/Charge RN, including any patient specific behaviors to monitor.
• Greets patients and visitors, identifies self, and explains purpose with AIDET.
• Observes and reports patient concerns or changes in condition to RN/Charge RN.
• Calls for assistance as needed and works within trained job responsibilities.
• Assists patient to restroom and stays with patient to maintain safety; walks as needed.
• Does not leave patient unless relieved by another staff member.
