Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking an experienced Patient Safety Coordinator to help advance our culture of safety and quality care. You will work under the Director of Patient Safety to manage the program and identify opportunities to improve outcomes for patients across our acute care campus.

The ideal candidate is a registered nurse or has a healthcare-related degree, with CPPS certification preferred or obtainable within 18 months of hire, and 3–5 years in acute care risk management.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse preferred or Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field.
• Knowledge of State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
• Three to five years' experience in acute care / patient safety risk management setting preferred.
• Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification, current or obtain with 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work to assist in managing the Patient Safety Program under the direction of the Director of Patient Safety.
• Support the patient safety team in developing a culture of safety and identifying opportunities to enhance patient safety.
• Support the patient safety team with development of strategic and operational plans to build a proactive, loss prevention and harm reduction program.
