Job summary

Baptist Health Care, Inc. is seeking a Safety Companion to provide non-nursing tasks and assist nurses with patient care within the scope of training and experience.

You will monitor patient verbalizations, report actions to the nurse, and act as the constant observer for patients assessed to require safety monitoring. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) within 90 days is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient safety while seated with safety companion and Baker Act patients.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly patient environment.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living as directed by the nurse.
• Maintains ongoing communication with the assigned nurse.
• Maintains current knowledge and certification.
• Float throughout Baptist Health Care System as needed.
