Carle Health is seeking staff to monitor patients for safety risks and help prevent harm. The role involves direct observation, assisting with routine activities, and coordinating with nursing staff to ensure patient well-being.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety protocols, maintaining privacy, assisting with meals and communications, and documenting observations. This position supports patient care across shifts at our Peoria facilities.

Formación

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• CPI Training within 3 months.
• BLS within 30 days (American Heart Association).
• Experience in safety monitoring or patient care environment preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure patient's safety by providing a safe environment.
• Directly observes identified patient(s) at all times during assigned shift.
• Provide activities for patient entertainment and treatment purposes.
• Remove potentially dangerous items from patient room.
• Implement patient safety protocols (elopement, suicide, self-harm, fall, aggression risks).
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Assist patient with routine activities and meals (if appropriate).
• Assist with tray setup if no restrictions.
• Answer patient calls or assist with making calls.
• Notify nursing staff to assist with clinical activities.
• Coordinate care with hospital personnel; consult with Lead RN or assigned RN, Security, and others.
• Document intake/output and observations on flow sheets; report changes timely.

Diploma/GED (Required), Work Experience:

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient's safety by providing a safe environment
• Directly observes identified patient(s) at all times during assigned shift
• Provides activities as necessary for patient entertainment and treatment purposes
• Removes items from patient room/surroundings that are potentially dangerous
• Ensures implementation of patient safety protocols including but not limited to elopement risk, suicide risk, self-harm potential, fall risk, and risk of aggression.
• Maintains patient's privacy and ensure confidentiality
• Assist patient with routine activities
• Assists patient with meal selection (as appropriate)
• Assists with tray set up if no restrictions
• Answers patient phone or assists patient in making calls
• Notifies nursing staff to assist patient with clinical activities
• Coordinate care with appropriate hospital personnel
• Consults with Lead RN or assigned RN, Security, other staff as needed
• Reports intake and output to assigned RN
• Reports observations about patient and patient's behavior to assigned RN
• Reports changes in patient behavior to nursing staff in timely manner
• Document implementation of safety protocols
• Ensures safety protocols are utilized according to policy
• Documents implementation of appropriate protocols
• Documents proof of observation and other protocols on flow sheet

Compensation And Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $15.74per hour - $25.5per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
