Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician for a full-time night-shift role at our CSO unit. The candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience in an acute hospital setting. CPI and CPR certifications are pluses and mileage reimbursement is provided.

The role involves direct care to patients with behavioral and/or mental health needs under supervision, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years experience in an acute hospital setting for the CSO PCT role.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate skill and judgement to provide safe and effective care to patients including those with complex behavioral and/or mental health needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, documents appropriate data, and reports changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
• Uses effective communication skills to collaborate with members of the health care team to provide a safe environment to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Provides continual observation, ongoing documentation, and participates in the development of the plan of care for patients with complex behavioral and/or mental health needs.
