Job summary

Riverside Health System in Hampton, VA seeks a Patient Safety Aide to monitor assigned patients under RN supervision. You will observe patients continually to prevent harm and report unsafe behaviors, ensuring their safety at all times.

The role emphasizes teamwork and independent work, with emphasis on exceptional customer service for patients and visitors. Weekend and irregular shifts are required, and all staff participate in ongoing safety training and CPR/First Aid readiness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year Behavioral Health experience (Preferred)
• CPR/BLS Certification within 30 Days (Required)
• First Aid within 30 Days (Required)
• Certified Crisis Prevention (CPI) within 15 days of hire (Required)

Responsibilities

• Sits in the assigned patient's room to observe the patient and ensure the patient does not harm themselves or others.
• Prevents suicide, falls, self-injury, or leaving the hospital against medical advice.
• Promotes teamwork and can work independently as needed.
• Seeks assistance as needed.
• Keeps the team informed of changes and collaborates to provide quality care and customer service.
• Provides exceptional customer service to all patients and customers.
