Job summary

Community Health Network in Kokomo, IN invites a Host/Hostess to join our patient-focused team. You will assist patients with food selections aligned to diet prescriptions, communicate menus, and help deliver timely meals with care and empathy.

The role works closely with other caregivers to provide exceptional service, requires English proficiency, and physical stamina to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods. This position supports our mission of compassionate, quality care.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a food service department preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to demonstrate job competency after training and written tests.
• Reading, writing, mathematics skills and ability to operate a computer terminal.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Bend, stoop and twist frequently.
• Visual and hearing acuity to read menu and respond to patients.

Responsibilities

• The Host / Hostess assists patients with appropriate food selections in accordance with diet prescription.
• Communicates the menu to patients.
• Prepares late trays for assigned patients.
• Works in partnership with other team members.
• Provides customer focused care to the patients served.
