Job summary

Mission Hospital McDowell is seeking a Patient Registrar PRN to ensure timely and accurate patient registration. You will interview patients for all account information and verify insurance coverage, with occasional coverage at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.

Responsibilities include bedside or workstation registration, verifying insurance, obtaining pre-certifications, calculating patient liability, and maintaining accurate charts.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstations or bedside to obtain account information and perform bedside registration.
• Provide exemplary customer service.
• Ensure charts are completed and accurate.
• Verify insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Obtain necessary signatures for treatment and release of information.
• Process patient charts according to workflow and productivity standards.
• Gather patient and demographic information with insurance details.
• Verify benefits and assign the correct insurance plans.
