Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network seeks a patient-focused food service team member to prepare, assemble and deliver hospital meals and snacks. You will ensure accurate portioning, proper temperatures, and safe tray delivery to patients, following established policies.

Experience in customer service or food service is preferred, but on-the-job training is provided. This role supports high-quality patient care and adherence to safety standards in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service or food service experience preferred, but not required.
• On-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, sets, and serves all food as directed ensuring proper temperatures and portion sizes.
• Performs minor food preparation and portioning tasks in accordance with departmental policy.
• Prepares and gathers items needed for snacks and breaks and delivers them to the proper areas.
• Helps in tray assembly.
• Delivers trays to patients following established facility and departmental procedures.
• Uses two patient identifiers to ensure patient safety.
• Double checks tray for accuracy and nutrition order compliance prior to delivery.
• Ensures the tray is positioned properly for the patient and assists with opening tray elements.
• Picks up soiled trays and returns trays to kitchen for proper cleaning and storage.
• Maintains proper food quality and temperature.
