Job summary

Atlantic Health System in New Jersey is seeking a dietary support specialist to work with nutritionists and healthcare teams to improve patient well-being through tailored dietary care and accurate communication of nutritional information.

You will coordinate patient meal plans, take orders at the bedside and by phone, consider cultural or religious preferences, and ensure meal tickets and diet orders are correctly updated.

Qualifications

• Coordinates meals with healthcare professionals and nutritionists.
• Takes patient meal orders by phone and bedside.
• Assists with meal selections considering cultural and/or religious needs.
• Reviews and modifies meal tickets to comply with diet orders.
• Processes new diets, changes, tube feedings and NPO orders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient's meal plans with healthcare professionals and nutritionists.
• Takes patient meal orders via phone and at the bedside.
• Assists with meal selections while taking into consideration cultural and/or religious preferences.
• Monitors patient meal tickets- this includes reviewing and modifying as needed to comply with prescribed diet order.
• Processes new diets, changes, tube feedings and NPO orders efficiently while keeping accurate records.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
