Job summary

Western Missouri Medical Center seeks a part-time Food Service Aide to manage patient meals, tray assembly, and delivery on assigned units. You will take menu selections, ensure diet orders are followed, and support dietitians and nursing staff.

The role involves adhering to sanitation, HACCP guidelines, and maintaining a pleasant, team-oriented service approach for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; basic training acceptable.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for menu pricing and tray counts.
• Experience with hospital ADT or computer-based systems preferred.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out tasks.
• Self-motivated and able to work within hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit friendly attitude when serving patients and during rounds.
• Take patients' menu selections prior to meals.
• Assemble and deliver trays per diet orders.
• Respect dietary restrictions and alternatives per guidelines.
• Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure accurate diet prescriptions.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to HACCP and sanitation procedures.
• Complete required daily/shift reports.
• Maintain regular attendance.
