Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated food service team member to support timely meal preparation and service in patient areas. You will handle tray assembly, distribution, and basic sanitation while following safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include securing equipment, adhering to procedures, serving meals with proper patient identification, and maintaining health and safety standards in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assures the necessary food and service equipment/utensils are secured for the assigned area prior to meal service.
• Adheres to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
• Serves patient meals using the designated department script with proper patient identification.
• Delivers meals to residents' rooms when requested; sets tables for meals per the Food Service Guidelines Manual.
• Assembles and serves meals per diet orders, menus, and patient/guest requirements.
• Maintains food safety and quality per PA Department of Health/Allegheny County Health Department/PA Department of Welfare where applicable.
• Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures when interacting with customers.
• Performs sanitation for the assigned work area per departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
