Job summary

County of Bucks is seeking a Food Service Attendant to prepare and serve meals according to physicians' orders in a clinical setting. The role involves pre-portioned meals, safe transport of trays, and maintaining sanitation across kitchen and dining areas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and understand instructions; learn principles of good patient care through food and nutrition; apply principles learned to workload.
  • Good health; physically strong enough to perform duties listed.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-portions cold foods prior to each meal service and nourishment for between-meal feedings.
  • Fills and serves trays onto tray delivery carts; transports carts to nursing service areas and to dining room.
  • Scraps trays, loads and operates dish machine, disposes of garbage and trash; cleans utensils and equipment.
  • Stores carts, utensils, trays, unused food and non-food items in a sanitary manner.
  • Sweeps, scrubs equipment and floors in kitchen, dining room, offices, bathrooms and conference room; maintains sanitation.
