Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo is seeking a Food Service Worker to deliver patient meals, sanitize the food service area, and ensure accuracy in tray assembly while following State of Texas Health Department sanitation guidelines.

You will deliver trays, check orders, rotate stock, wash dishes and utensils, sanitize carts, and help the Dietary Department meet standards and participate in department meetings, with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Must complete pre-employment assessment.
• Possible completion of Step One of the Certified Dietary Manager course.
• Must be able to read and comprehend.
• Typing and basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient meals and serves food trays.
• Check patient trays to ensure all items ordered are present; no more than one error per day.
• Gather and deliver floor stock; rotate stock in the nurse unit and discard outdated products.
• Washes dishes, pans, and utensils for patients, cafeteria, and catering.
• Sanitizes patient carts daily.
• Empties trash in the food service area.
• Ensures dietary department meets regulations (State, Medicare, Joint Commission).
• Attends and participates in department meetings.
• Other duties assigned.
