Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Diet Clerk to support patients, the clinical dietitian, and meal services in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include assisting patients with menu selections, responding to needs promptly, maintaining confidentiality, and communicating important information to the dietitian and care team. Tray ticket accuracy against the EMR is also required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent; college training in Dietetics or related field preferred.
• Experience: Prior health care experience or knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients or families with menu selections.
• Respond to patient needs in a timely manner.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Communicate clinical information to the dietitian and care team.
• Establish and maintain positive communication with patients and families.
• Check tray tickets against EMR to ensure accuracy and alignment with diet orders.
