Job summary

US Digestive Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in a busy gastroenterology office. The role includes collecting patient history, recording vitals, documenting medications and allergies, and preparing charts with test results.

The assistant will help minimize patient wait times by staying organized, assist in exams and procedures, and ensure confidential, compassionate care for patients and families. May travel between locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ongoing continuing education participation.
• Ability to deliver compassionate patient care.
• Ability to multitask in a busy office.

Responsibilities

• Take patients to exam rooms and gather information for providers (height, weight, vitals, allergies/meds, EMR entry).
• Assist providers with exams and procedures in gastroenterology.
• Administer Breath Tests as needed.
• Call patients with normal test results at provider’s request.
• Receive and distribute all EMR documents and emails.
• Order and pre-authorize special injectable and oral medications.
