South Denver Surgery Center, part of United Surgical Partners International, is hiring a full-time Insurance Verifier. This fast-paced ASC environment focuses on identifying patients' financial status and coordinating pre-service eligibility and authorizations.

The role includes collecting co-pays, entering data accurately, and supporting scheduling while maintaining a low error rate. Teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year previous experience or health care clerical experience or medical terminology preferred.
• Must have the skills necessary to operate office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
• Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with their needs.
• Obtain insurance information, copies of cards, patient signatures, and collect payments.
• Verify benefits and eligibility; obtain authorizations as necessary.
• Verify date-of-surgery authorization with doctor’s office and follow up if needed.
• Enter verification findings in the computer under the patient record.
• Inform patients of outstanding co-pays and deductibles before surgery.
• File verification sheet in the patient’s Medical Record.
• Enter insurance data to produce a clean claim; maintain low error rate.
• Maintain daily receipt journal and process payments.
• Provide scheduling desk relief when needed.
• Route incoming calls professionally; assist in quality-improvement processes.
• Promote professional growth and assist others in development.
