Job summary

SEARHC is seeking a Patient Financial Services Analyst to identify trends and improve AR by analyzing charge validation and denials. The role performs patient accounting tasks including insurance and self-pay billing, remit analysis, and cash posting within a non-profit health system serving Southeast Alaska.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and at least two years in healthcare billing, with knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, revenue codes, and payer policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience in a healthcare billing office.
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare billing office – required.
  • Knowledge of hospital/clinic billing and collections.
  • Payor remittances and knowledge of CPT’s, HCPCS, and Revenue Codes.
  • Major insurance companies' billing policies to ensure compliance.
  • Reconciling and balancing of payments received against account receivables.
  • Medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, analyzes, and reconciles billing errors or omissions.
  • Ensures proper charge capture, billing, and adjudication of claims per guidelines.
  • Monitors Discharged Not Final Billed (DNFB) to minimize open AR.
  • Escalates themes for payer relation bulk resolution.
  • Supports data extraction and analysis for process improvements.
