Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of third-party coverage, prior authorization, and referrals.
• Familiar with state and federal resources for needy and disabled.
• Strong communication with patients and payers.
• Strong CPT/ICD terminology knowledge.
• Ability to manage high volume of prior authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients and families to resolve outstanding accounts.
• Arrange and negotiate payment plans and advise on resources.
• Interview patients about financial/dependency status to aid eligibility for assistance.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain referrals and authorizations.
• Collaborate with Brown University Health staff to resolve denials and billing issues.
