Job summary

Denver Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Financial Counselor for on-site, Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm MST with occasional Saturday availability. You will guide patients through financial responsibilities, verify insurance, and help estimate out-of-pocket costs.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, crisis awareness, and collaboration with hospital staff; prior healthcare/insurance experience and familiarity with EHR systems are a plus.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer service and telephone skills required.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention and at-risk populations.
• High school diploma required; advanced education preferred.
• Proficient with software programs; exposure to EHR systems preferred.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare, business, or Insurance related experience.
• PPI / HIPPA knowledge preferred.
• Comfortable discussing financial responsibilities with at-risk patients.
• Follow auditing procedures and documentation of patient records.
• CPR & First Aid/Universal Precautions (or ability to receive within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to patients regarding financial responsibilities.
• Verify insurance benefits accurately and timely.
• Explain charges and help estimate out-of-pocket costs.
• Collect payments and identify funding sources.
• Communicate with patients/guardians to obtain needed information.
• Maintain harmonious relationships with hospital staff.
