Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Successful completion of departmental orientation.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to performance standards, policies and behaviors.
• Transport patients or materials according to policy.
• Organize and care for equipment.
• Incorporate safety, patient rights and infection control into practice.
• Make decisions and prioritize transport and departmental issues with appropriate action.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Attend mandatory in-services.
• Adhere to hospital policies including dress code and attendance; submit annual physical.
• Collaborate and communicate with health care team.
• Complete competency requirements.
• Schedule to ensure departmental coverage.
• Oversee Patient/Materials Transport staff.
• Maintain inventory of wheelchairs; ensure daily availability.
• Perform routine inventory audits of wheelchairs.
• Ensure transportation of materials and patients is timely and efficient.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
