Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, seeks a Patient Services Manager in Chicago, IL to lead a 30-member team in an acute care setting at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The role coordinates two kitchen models, serves ~800 patients daily, and oversees ~150 union employees with a 12:30 p.m.–9:30 p.m. schedule and some weekends.

The manager will hire, coach, and train staff while ensuring compliance with dietary and regulatory standards and driving patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with one year work experience in food services or related field or bachelor’s degree in food service technology/management or related field.
• Certified Dietary Manager certificate, Registered Diet Technician or Registered Dietitian preferred
• Minimum of one year experience in food service management preferred in an acute care setting
• ServSafe® certified desirable
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, EMR, and diet office systems

Responsibilities

• Establishes goals and oversees patient food services needs based on medical direction and patient population.
• Hires, directs, coaches, trains, and develops patient service team members.
• Complies with dietary restrictions to meet patient needs within diet orders.
• Ensures patient services staff achieve patient satisfaction goals.
• Complies with regulatory standards and HIPAA, patient rights policies.
• Participates in patient satisfaction programs and Quality Assurance initiatives

Job Summary

We are seeking a Patient Services Manager to lead our 30-member Patient Services Team in an Acute Care setting in Chicago, IL. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is a 1,200-bed major academic medical center with two kitchens. The department operates two kitchens: One kitchen utilizes a room service model, while the other operates a "Catering to You" bedside dining model. We serve approximately 800 patients per day. This position manages approximately 150 Northwestern Memorial union employees and around 30 employees per shift. The Patient Services Manager works a 12:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. schedule, with occasional AM coverage. Weekend work is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Establishes goals and oversees implementation of patient food services needs based upon medical direction and patient population
• Hires, directs, coaches, trains, and develops patient service team members
• Complies with dietary restrictions on special or modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of the diet order limitations
• Ensures patient services staff assists in achieving stated patient satisfaction goals
• Complies with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies
• Participates in/ leads patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs

Qualifications

• Associate degree with one (1) year work experience in food services or related field, or bachelor’s degree in food service technology/management or related field
• Certified Dietary Manager certificate, Registered Diet Technician or Registered Dietitian, preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in food service management preferred in an acute care setting
• ServSafe® certified, desirable
• Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record, and diet office systems
