Job summary

Valley Health System in Paramus, NJ seeks a Diet Aide to aid patients with meal selections, explain diet information, and support tray delivery and nourishment services. You will operate the CBORD Diet Office System and collaborate with the Department of Food & Nutrition to ensure high-quality patient service.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and at least one year of hospital food service experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • One year previous experience as a Dietary Aide in hospital food service or related healthcare setting.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English including ability to read small type on a computer screen.
  • Good communication skills and attention to details.

Responsibilities

  • Enter patient selections in the hand held computer.
  • Assist patients in selecting meals and explain basic diet information to patients and family.
  • Act as liaison between patients and the Department of Food & Nutrition.
  • Provide tray delivery and nourishments to patients.
  • Stock food supplies for nursing unit pantries and handle meal service issues.
