Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services such as helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patients in understanding their menu options and collaborate with nursing to ensure dietary restrictions are followed.
• Work with caregivers and culinary staff to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, religious preferences, and additional patient inquiries.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient's selections promptly and accurately. Retrieve trays from patient rooms at scheduled times.
• Comply with regulatory standards including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and patient rights policies in accordance with HIPAA.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down tray lines.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or with specific nutritional needs.
• Report problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required by Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Adhere to health and sanitation regulations and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.
