Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units, assisting patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and satisfaction by delivering accurate and timely meals at the correct temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist patients in understanding their menu options and coordinate with nursing to meet their nutritional needs.
2. Work with the culinary team to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, religious, or personal preferences.
3. Manage tray tickets, assemble meals accurately, and retrieve trays from patient rooms at scheduled times.
4. Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to HIPAA policies.
5. Follow HACCP guidelines in food handling, cleaning, and tray line procedures.
6. Follow infection control policies.
7. Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or with specific calorie requirements.
8. Communicate patient concerns promptly to appropriate personnel.
9. Complete required reports as per policies.
10. Follow health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
