Job description

Job Title: Patient Dining Associate/Dietary Aide

Location: AdventHealth Polk - 101 Hospital Drive, Columbus, NC 28722. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time and part-time rotating schedules; days and hours may vary. More details upon interview.

Requirements: No prior experience required. Willing to train!

Pay Range: $14.50 to $17.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates assist on healthcare units by helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They are vital to patient safety and satisfaction, ensuring meals are accurate, timely, and at the correct temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with menu choices, ensuring dietary restrictions and preferences are met.
  • Coordinate with nursing and culinary teams for menu modifications due to allergies, sensitivities, or cultural needs.
  • Manage tray tickets, assemble meals, and retrieve trays in a timely manner.
  • Comply with regulatory standards, confidentiality, and HIPAA policies.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines for food handling and sanitation.
  • Support dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets.
  • Report problems or concerns promptly.
  • Complete required reports and adhere to sanitation regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver carts.
