Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk invites applications for a Nutritional Aide - Full Time, Days in Food & Nutrition-Patient Food Sv, 11:00AM - 7:00PM Monday - Friday with Alternating Weekends. The role assembles and breaks down patient trays, labels and delivers nourishments, operates tray line equipment, and maintains a clean work area to meet DOH guidelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Able to read a patient menu from approximately four feet away and serve appropriate food.
• Stand for 80-90% of the workday.
• Able to deliver supplies to pantries and trays to patients politely.
• Work in a hot kitchen and dish area; follow DOH guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Set up station with utensils and ware for meals.
• Serve food per DOH guidelines; wear hairnet and gloves.
• Read patient menus and place food on trays promptly.
• Clean and sanitize work stations; restock as needed.
• Transport meal carts and deliver trays on schedule.
• Prepare coffee and maintain service areas.
• Follow infection control procedures and FIFO in kitchen.
• Ensure food is prepared and served at proper temperature.
• Label and date nourishments and snacks as required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
