Qualifications

• Must have a current Food Handler’s Card or obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic.
• Understand standard food-service measurement units.
• Follow modified diet plans and policies.
• Basic computer skills and email use.
• Pass criminal background and reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving patient meals and snacks, including therapeutic diet items
• Ensuring accuracy in following dietary orders and menu selections
• Assisting with food and beverage preparation for hospital events
• Supporting the cook in assembling meal trays
• Maintaining a clean, organized and sanitary food service area
• Providing courteous and respectful service to patients, visitors and staff
• Adhering to all safety, infection control and confidentiality standards.
