Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the activities of clinical programs and initiatives within the practice; leads development and management of these programs; generates performance reports; communicates changes to the practice; supports leadership in policy and efficient systems.
  • Maintains medical supplies and stock in exam rooms; checks equipment; prepares specimens; coordinates with providers on lab results; conveys information to outside contacts; evaluates provider performance; sterilizes instruments; disposes of waste.
  • Answers patient calls, triages, schedules and confirms appointments, verifies insurance, registers patients, collects payments as needed, and maintains up-to-date insurance knowledge.
  • Greet patients, build positive relationships, communicate clearly, explain office policies, and handle patient communications and inquiries.

Full‑Time Patient Coordinator

Location: 5 Plainsboro Rd.
Department: Breast Surgery
Schedule: M‑F 8am‑4:30pm

Summary: The Patient Coordinator assists the practice manager and providers in maintaining a patient/customer focus, supports the delivery of highest quality care, shares a passion for patient and customer centered care, and assists in meeting or exceeding initiatives within the practice and supports practice operations by performing clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinator Duties: Coordinates the activities of clinical program(s) and/or initiative(s) within the practice; assumes a leadership role in program/initiative development, implementation, and management; generates reports to monitor performance; acts as communication link to the practice regarding changes, improvements, effectiveness, and efficiency; provides support to practice leadership for establishing and maintaining practice policies, procedures, and efficient systems.
  • Clinical Duties: Maintains medical supplies and stocks in exam rooms, checks equipment, reports broken equipment, rooms patients, obtains vitals, documents properly, reports abnormalities, performs laboratory and screening tests, prepares specimens, coordinates with providers on lab results, coordinates communication with outside contacts, evaluates performance of assigned providers, cleans and sterilizes instruments, and disposes of infectious waste properly.
  • Patient Services Associate Duties (as needed/directed): Answers patient calls, triages calls, retrieves voicemail messages, schedules appointments, confirms appointments, performs check‑in/check‑out functions, verifies insurance, registers patients, informs team of arrival, attempts to collect payments, verifies referral validity, issues referrals, and maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of insurance requirements.
  • Customer Services Duties: Greets and interacts with patients, establishes positive relationships, demonstrates knowledge of patient history, treats patients with compassion, communicates patient information, provides clear explanations, advises patients on office policies, and returns patient phone calls as defined by the practice.
Credentials
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • MA‑AAMA or MA‑AMT or MA‑NCCT or MA‑NHA (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience
  • H.S. Diploma/GED and 3+ years medical office experience. Advanced degree (Associate’s, Bachelor's, master’s may be considered in lieu of experience). (Required)
  • Associate’s degree health‑related or science area of study (Preferred)
Salary Range

$18.97 – $29.20/Hourly
