Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Pembroke Pines, Florida seeks an EMT or Medical Assistant to perform routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the assigned area or office, contributing to the Memorial Experience.

This role involves basic diagnostic procedures, phlebotomy, Telehealth setup, chart activation, patient education, and attentive documentation of vital signs, examinations, and discharge instructions while ensuring safety and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited EMT or Medical Assistant program.
• BLS American Heart Certification (AHA ECARD) required.
• Medical Assistant Registration or Certification is preferred.
• Six months of patient care experience in lieu of program is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, including phlebotomy and splint application.
• Activates My Chart Accounts and ensures Telehealth connectivity.
• Provides discharge instructions and follows up with patients as needed.
• Maintains examination areas and medical supplies, including stocking and cleaning per protocol.
• Manages and facilitates patient in-basket messages and phone calls.
• R rounds with patients to ensure Excellent Patient Experience.
