Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a General Environmental Services Worker to support the Patient Care Unit with cleaning, transport, and essential maintenance tasks for patient care.

The role involves stocking supplies, reporting and routing maintenance for equipment, and maintaining a clean, sanitary environment in patient areas to prepare rooms for the next admission. Prior cleaning experience is preferred; a high school diploma is required. This position is on-site with regular hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to operate light housecleaning agents and cleaning tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains stock of supplies at pre-established par levels and transports supplies.
• Reports missing or damaged equipment to leadership and completes maintenance requests.
• Maintains clean, sanitary, and orderly environment in occupied patient units and prepares units for next admission.
• Cleans and maintains rolling stock equipment and wall-mounted equipment (blood pressure apparatus, IV poles, carts, monitor tops, suction units).
• Performs general cleaning duties: disinfecting bathrooms, tubs, trash removal, replenish hand soap and paper supplies.
• Ensures treatment, utility rooms, lounges, and medication rooms are kept clean and properly supplied.
• Accesses medication delivery areas as needed for required duties.
• Performs related duties as required.
