Job summary

PIH Health Hospital in Whittier, CA is seeking a Unit Clerk/Medical Assistant support staff to assist with the provision of patient care during an assigned shift. Under supervision, you will collect basic patient data, aid transportation, nutrition and comfort, and help maintain unit organization.

You will monitor orders, provide timely follow-ups, and communicate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient patient flow. A high school diploma or GED and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 1–2 years hospital/healthcare experience in clerical, unit clerking or Medical Assistant preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology or completion of course within six months.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with provision of patient care including data collection, transportation, nutrition and comfort.
• Monitor orders and provide follow-up notifications as needed.
• Maintain clerical organization within the unit.
