Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking dedicated Patient Care Technicians for 13-week night shifts in New Jersey. This role supports acute care patients, performing essential care tasks and monitoring vital signs in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Candidates must have at least 1 year of patient care experience (6 months in acute care), a valid state license, and BLS certification. CNA or EKG/phlebotomy certificates are preferred. Training available for PPE use and bed transfers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with ambulation and feeding of patients.

• Take vital signs and perform 12-lead EKGs.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens (urine, stool, etc.).
• Provide safe patient transfers and assist with turning/repositioning.
• Change linens in occupied and unoccupied beds; provide incontinence care.
• Assist with mouth care and perineal care for all patients.
• Understand use of antiembolic stockings and bed alarms; use PPE correctly.
• Label and transport specimens; assist with patient transport as needed.

Description:This position involves working night shifts.Candidates should have one year of patient care experience, with a minimum of six months in an acute hospital setting.Candidates must possess certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS).A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.It is preferred that candidates hold a certificate in patient care, EKG, and phlebotomy.Skills required include assisting with ambulation and feeding patients, handling oxygen tanks, and understanding pulse oximetry.Candidates must be familiar with isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE).They will need to measure and record intake and output, obtain vital signs, and perform 12-lead EKGs.Phlebotomy skills are also required, along with knowledge of abnormal and normal vital sign parameters for adults and pediatrics.Safe patient transfers and assistance with turning and repositioning are essential responsibilities.Candidates should be able to change linens in both occupied and unoccupied beds and provide incontinence care.They will assist with mouth care and perineal care for both male and female patients.Understanding of antiembolic stockings and the use of bed alarms is necessary.Candidates must be familiar with the use of bedpans, urinals, and bedside commodes.Knowledge of crutches, electronic vital sign equipment, glucometers, and specialized hospital beds is required.Cleaning of equipment and proper donning and removal of PPE are part of daily tasks.Candidates must be capable of performing CPR and routine catheter care.They will also be involved in specimen collection for urine, stool, and other types of tests.Hygiene-related tasks, such as bathing and overall personal care, will be part of the job.Candidates should know how to label and transport specimens.Understanding normal vital sign parameters for adults and pediatrics is necessary.They will be responsible for patient transport as needed.This position involves working with a diverse patient population, primarily adults and geriatrics, including surgical patients.Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries.
