Qualifications

• Active clinical exposure or student enrollment in a related program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admitting and discharge processes.
• Take vitals and draw blood.
• Provide daily patient care including bathing, ambulating, and comfort measures.
• Perform Foley catheter care and address patient needs under nurse supervision.

Sentara Health is hiring Patient Care Technicians for the Western region of our market. These positions will float between two of the three hospitals:

Sentara RMH Medical Center

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center

Overview

As a Patient Care Technician with Sentara Health, you will have the opportunity to learn many new skills. From taking vitals to blood draws and daily care. The primary duties of this position include supporting the admission/discharge process, changing, bathing ambulating patients, drawing blood, foley catheter care, meeting patient needs while working under the direct supervision of a nurse. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to provide the best care for our patients.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Certification/Licensure

• Graduate of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
• Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
• Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School
• Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT) or current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.

Experience

Previous direct care experience preferred

Candidates must live within 75 miles of two of the three hospitals named above.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.93 - $27.41 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
