Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Nurses Aide/Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation, EMT training, or Nursing student with Nursing 101 clinical or equivalent clinical rotation required.
• 1 year experience in a related patient care role preferred.
• Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of the registered nurse.
• Initiates and completes procedures addressing basic human, mental health and social needs; comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care; nutrition and fluid needs; and elimination needs.
• Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, venipuncture, IV placement, and capillary blood glucose testing.
• Performs Unit Secretary, Patient Transport, and Environment of Care duties as assigned.
