Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/ Geriatric Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. You will take vital signs, assist with ADLs, perform blood draws, and collect specimens while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Requires a Maryland CNA/GNA credential and BLS certification. This full‑time day position offers a $2,000 sign‑on bonus, shift differential, and benefits; salary ranges

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current Maryland CNA or GNA certification.
BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

Perform direct patient care under supervision.
Take and document vital signs.
Perform venipuncture and collect specimens.
Assist with ADLs and patient mobility.
Record patient data and communicate status to the care team.
Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
Maintain patient rooms and supply levels.
Provide wound care and post-mortem care as needed.
Participate in patient rounding and safety initiatives.
Follow safety and quality standards per Joint Commission.
