Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (FT Nights) to join a collaborative nursing team providing direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses.

You will assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, comfort, and non-medicated care, while maintaining clean, organized areas and supporting infection prevention efforts. Join a strong, patient-focused care team in Anchorage.

Qualifications

  • BCLS/CPR certification must be current.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required within 90 days of start date.
  • Preferred: 6–12 months experience as a Patient Care Technician.

Job description

Join Alaska Regional Hospital as a Patient Care Technician (FT Nights). You will be a vital part of a collaborative nursing team, supporting registered nurses with direct patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort.
  • Provide non‑medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas and common spaces.
  • Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
  • Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 7 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Preferred: 6–12 months experience as a Patient Care Technician.
