Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a PRN Nursing Assistant to join a team providing patient care in an acute care setting. You will support RNs, document care, and participate in safety and quality activities, with weekend morning shifts and on-call duties.

Requirements include a High School graduate and BLS/CPR with CNA or similar certification. Prior bedside care in an acute unit is preferred; opportunities for growth and a supportive team environment are highlighted in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required].
• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred].
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred].

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and supports quality standards.
• Follows isolation guidelines and proper PPE use.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in delivering patient care as a team member under RN direction.
• Documents procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Reports abnormalities after taking nursing history.
• Assists in identifying patient needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.

PRN on call

every weekend from 7:00 am to 11:30 am

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required] OR NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Required] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Required] OR Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT)[Required]
