Job summary

Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PRN) to join a collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses with hands-on patient care and safety. You will assist with daily needs, vital signs, mobility, and personal care while helping monitor conditions and carry out care plans.

Your empathy and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient, contributing to a mission to improve lives daily.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Supports Registered Nurses in hands-on patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
