Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL is seeking a Night Shift Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff and ensure patient safety on the unit. Responsibilities include assisting nurses, monitoring patient condition, and maintaining a clean, secure environment for newborns, adolescents, and adults.

The role requires CPR certification and Florida Nursing Assistant certification or pending credentials; a high school diploma is preferred, and one year of experience is welcome.

Qualifications

• State of Florida Nursing Assistant Certification preferred; CPR Certification required.
• High School Diploma preferred.
• One year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe environment. Adheres to the Infant Security and Abduction Policy.
• Assists nurses with transportation and other duties related to patient care.
• Cross trains as unit secretary; covers front desk when needed, answers patient call system, telephones, monitors infant security.
• Discontinues foley catheters and med locks as directed by RN.
• Assists in preparation of the unit and patient rooms for receiving admissions, transfer and post-operative patients.
• Uses proper body mechanics when positioning, lifting, turning and ambulating patients.
• Reports any changes observed in the condition or behavior of the patient to the nurse in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates the ability to provide safe care to patients who are: Newborn, Adolescent, Adult.
• Accurately takes vital signs and records in patient record promptly.
• Distributes water, appropriately records correct intake and output when indicated within shift.
• Makes frequent patient rounds at least every two hours.
• Provides patient care as directed by licensed nurse to include but not limited to: enemas, sitz bath, blood glucose monitoring and simple dressing changes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
