Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support vascular unit patients across day and night shifts. You will perform patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, phlebotomy, EKG testing, specimen collection, and catheter care under RN supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS within 90 days of hire, and CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent certification; prior healthcare experience is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of one of the listed CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent programs required.
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Monitor and document vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Support mobility and ambulation of patients.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection and point-of-care testing as needed.
• Conduct EKG testing and manage IV/removal as directed.
• Assist with Foley catheter care and other procedures following safety protocols.

City/StateNorfolk, VAWork ShiftMultiple shifts availableOverview:Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) for the Vascular Unit.Full Time, Day Shift and Night Shift positions are available:Full Time: Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week), with rotating weekends and holidays.Day Shift: 7:00am to 7:00pmNight Shift: 7:00pm to 7:00amDepartment Overview: The Vascular Unit is 24-bed stepdown/intermediate care specialty unit provides care to patients with vascular disorders, kidney, and pancreas transplants!The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides patient care, supports independent and dependent activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal, and complies with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse.
