Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Sarasota in Sarasota, FL is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT). You will support patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered or Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse and will not administer medications or therapies.

Preferred candidates have 2–3 years of experience in acute, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing settings, and a high school diploma with current BLS certification. Benefits are included for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Education and Training: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in an acute hospital, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs various patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered or Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse.
• Does not administer medications or therapies.
• Follows hospital policies and procedures to support patient comfort and safety.

Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible for performing various patient care activities and accommodative services under the general supervision of a Registered or Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse. Performs patient care activities within the limits of the position. Does not administer medications or therapy. Does not assume independent responsibility for patient care. Job duties are accomplished in a manner consistent with the policies, procedures and guidelines of PAM Health.
