Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide compassionate patient care under the direction of a registered nurse. You will perform treatments, assist in clinical emergencies, maintain a safe, clean environment, and participate in performance improvement activities.

You will collaborate with patients, their families, and the health care team, document procedures, collect nursing history, and support bed-side care on an acute care unit.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Bedside patient care in acute care preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows isolation guidelines and uses protective equipment; enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.
