Job summary

Endeavor Health in Skokie is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support nurses and deliver hands-on patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with vital signs, EKG, labs, and daily care tasks, under RN supervision. Eligible candidates with CNA training and BLS certification are preferred; 24 hr/week schedules with rotating shifts offer opportunities for growth and meaningful patient interaction.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required
• 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
• CNA training preferred or nursing clinical rotation completed

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivering patient care under RN supervision
• Assist with vital signs, 12-Lead EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, turning, hourly rounding, glucose, feeding, admissions and discharge prep
• Contribute to patient-specific care plans and unit safety
• Participate in activities essential to patient care unit operations
• Promote high-quality patient experience and safety outcomes

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Tech


• Location: Skokie Hospital


• Full Time/Part Time: 24 hr/wk


• Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, rotating weekends


• Required Travel: no

What you will do:

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care


• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse


• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan


• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit


• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred


• License: N/A


• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.


• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
