Overview

Patient Care Technician - Neuroscience RB7 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Collaborates with an inpatient nursing team to provide quality patient care.

Join our premier Neuroscience Specialty Care unit, a 36-bed floor with 18 intermediate care and 18 general neuroscience beds in the Rosenberg Building. BIDMC Boston is a world-renowned medical center known for its treatment of neurovascular disorders, an accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center, and member of The Brain Aneurysm Institute. Our Neuroscience patient population includes, post-operative neurosurgery, strokes, neuromuscular disorders, traumatic brain injury, neuro-oncology and epilepsy.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with a registered nurse on developing a patient's care plan.
• Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse.
• Maintains the safety of patients identified at risk for preventable injury by implementing nursing safety interventions or using protective devices/equipment under the supervision of the registered nurse.
• Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
