McLaren Health Care is seeking a patient care associate to contribute to patient-centered care on the Medical Surgical unit. You will perform delegated care tasks, support patients and families, and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision.

Shift is days, 7:00am-7:30pm, with 48 bi-weekly hours. Benefits include 403(b), health/dental/vision insurance, PTO. Prior direct care experience is preferred.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent).
• Direct care experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN.
• Delivers compassionate support to patients and families.
• Assists with daily activities and personal care (bathing, dressing, feeding, etc.).
• Ensures HIPAA/OSHA compliance and infection-control protocols.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Certification must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Preferred

• Prior experience in direct care preferred.
• CENA training
• Prior experience obtained through clinical nursing rotation relevant to the specific work area.
