Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston Hospital is seeking a Part Time Patient Care Tech to support nursing staff on a night shift. You will deliver patient care under RN supervision, perform vital signs and routine tasks, and help with admissions, discharges and daily unit operations. Eligible candidates include CNAs or nursing students with BLS certification.

Part-time 20 hours per week, with evenings and rotating weekends; benefits include tuition reimbursement and other health and wellness programs.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S. and completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required.
• 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care.
• Assist with vital signs, EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley care, specimen collection, bathing, mobility and daily tasks.
• Assist with implementation of a patient-specific care plan.
• Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit.
• Contribute to safety and high-quality patient experience.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Tech
• Location: Evanston Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Part Time-20 hr/wk
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am, rotating weekends
• Required Travel: no

What you will do:

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• License: N/A
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
